Speckled Cutworm (Lacanobia subjuncta)

Speckled Cutworm (Lacanobia subjuncta)
Buxton, Traill County, North Dakota, USA
September 5, 2014
This may be an example of the Speckled Cutworm (Lacanobia subjuncta) 10299 caterpillar. I found larva on August 14, 2014 on top of a Common Milkweed leaf that was in our overgrown horse pasture. I reared it on Cottonwood. It went through several instars before pupating September 5, 2014 but never eclosed the following spring.

Looking at the images BG has posted and the Owlet Caterpillars of Eastern North America by Wagner, etc page 497 I believe I have ID this caterpillar correctly. If you think so after looking let me now I can move to the species level? Thank you.
