These are much smaller than most in the subfamily Campsomerinae. A first for your state. Congrats!

Check out the wing veins and also, the leg coloring. Note, sometimes they have some yellow on T4, as seen here on your Wasp.

Perhaps this could be added to the info page.
A first record is cool for Minnesota, a wonderful state, but I can't claim it (although I do manage to sneak over the border from Iowa and enjoy the SE corner of MN).

Some more info!

Some of the info is on some of the info tabs. The UFL website is also handy and linked on some of them. Though it mostly applies to the Florida species only, the wing-vein diagram is universal. Here is a link for you.
If you compare your other male's image to this one, (above) you can easily find that the extra cell is missing, from near the center of the wings. = genus: Scolia
