Brachionycha borealis

Brachionycha borealis
Lake George, Hubbard County, Minnesota, USA
Size: ~ 36 mm
Middle or late instar (pre-penultimate?, penultimate?) swept from low blueberry-dominated ground layer in pine barrens, June 25, 2015. Reared partly on blueberry, but as wild blueberry was not readily available near home, also used (as seen here) river birch. Photo shows final instar, at about 36 mm, on July 16, 2015. Adult found eclosed, in fresh condition, on bringing out wintering stock on April 14, 2016.
