Membracidae - Entylia carinata

Membracidae - Entylia carinata
Alton, Madison County, Illinois, USA
June 11, 2007
Size: ~7 mm

Moved
Moved from Entylia concisa. Copying John and Jane Balaban's comment on the host plant image, which has been frassed:
"Looks like Tall Ragweed, Ambrosia trifida. We have seen Entylia on Ambrosia too. Look for the spiky nymphs, and the ants protecting them, too. They are probably resting on the underside of some of the leaves. The leaves will look a little wilted."

Entylia concisa
Another polyphage.
