Close call
Stott, fter updating guide pages for Amyelois transitella and Laetilia coccidivora, I'm hard-pressed to tell the difference. Post on Mothing and Moth-watching Facebook group. Perhaps someone will have a better idea.

Robert, I have struggled with these too. It is my opinion that about the only way to differentiate is by size, but people rarely post actually measured sizes and the differences are not great. If you are interested you can see my discussion with Carol Wolfe here . Please let me know if you think I am wrong.
