Weevil Mating Event - Neoptochus adspersus - male - female

Weevil Mating Event - Neoptochus adspersus - Male Female
Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida, USA
July 5, 2015
This partridge pea was covered in weevils, most of them mating, as were some of the other partridge pea plants around it. I even saw clusters of 3 in some places. Most of them are white, but some of them have lost their scales and became more brown than white. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMGXIasUgUU
