Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA

Size: ~12mm
Found this beetle resting on a leaf near the ground at the base of a Basswood in an oak-hickory woodland. Looked through the guide and through Yanega and can't pin this one down. No obvious pattern that we can see, but does have spines on the side of the pronotum.

Oplosia nubila...
...the mottled pubescence is distinctive (see fig. 290 in Yanega).
