Possible Orthosia sp.? - Balsa labecula

Possible Orthosia sp.? - Balsa labecula
Reveler Conservation Area, North Stormont, Ontario, Canada
June 3, 2015
I am wondering if this might be an Orthosia sp., perhaps Orthosia rubescens?

Sounds good - we'll move it there

What do you think of Balsa?
Owlets, pg 256

Thank you
The Balsa larvae in the Owlet book look very similar to my photo, especially the White-blotched balsa. Larval food is given as hawthorns and chokeberry. There are many hawthorns at the site where I found this caterpillar.

Maybe a Lithophane sp
Looking again at this photo I posted I now wonder if it is a Lithophane species, maybe Lithophane unimoda? Not Orthosia.
