Moved
Moved from Mordellistena convicta.

This a male (anteriour tibia basally swollen, antennae longer).
For question of the "type" compared, read info page.

Great!
It's exciting getting these little guys identified. It makes me want to find more different species that are around.

Mordellistena convicta
Hi Tom, I'm trying to work through some of these many tumblers stuck at the family level using Liljeblad's ref.(1) and any other sources I can find. And although I've never actually seen one before, this one certainly appears to be Mordellistena convicta LeConte. see the type from the MCZ here. But your live image looks a lot better than the type from 1862.

One tumbler tumbles off the family page, and another new species for BugGuide :)
