This female was found in the late afternoon curled up within a corolla of Phacelia calthifolia...just like her male counterpart nearby in the post below:

   

Examining the 3rd image in this series: The white spot on the central portion of the mandibles; and the absence of a white spot on the frons...both indicate this is P. basirufus, according to Richards (1963,1966).
