Identification
Palpi upturned; head, thorax, and base of FWs mostly unmarked buff, usually with just a few small brown spots, often blending into a dull reddish streak along inner margin of FWs; diffuse creamy white streak along costa speckled with brown; most of remainder of FW grizzled pale gray with a couple of larger pairs of black and white dashes in the center of inner margin (top of folded wings) and at end of cell; terminal line of small black dots. The typical Phycitine pattern of transverse lines and a pair of discal dots is "nearly obliterated".

Range
South and central Texas, north to Dallas; also reported from Colorado.
Season
May-August, October (BG, iNaturalist). Grote reported specimens in January, March, and July.
