Unkown Beetles - Tanaops longiceps

Unkown Beetles - Tanaops longiceps
Mission Trails Park, San Diego County, California, USA
June 17, 2007
Size: 5 to 6 mm

Moved

Unknown Beetles from Mission Trails Park.
This is a courting pair of Tanaops longiceps (LeConte). The male (bottom of photo) has pits in the 4th and 5th abdominal ventrites. The mouthparts of the female (top of photo) fit into the abdominal pits of the male during courtship. Periodically the male will quickly swivel around and attempt to mate.

Tanaops
Hello, please anybody could tell me if these Tanaops are also Tanaops longiceps? Thanks!

Not Malachius
. . . but Melyridae (Malachiinae subfamily) is correct.

Not sure, but...
...looks like Malachius, something I shot in south Orange County.
