Green-winged mantid - Tenodera sinensis

Green-winged mantid - Tenodera sinensis
Glendening Nature Preserve, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA
October 11, 2015

wing color
What makes the difference between the green- and brown-winged varieties of this species? Age or gender?

I Don't Know
I find them in the same meadow, sometimes feet apart, exhibiting the full range of color variations found in this species, so I doubt it is some environmental factor.

Moved
Moved from Mantidae.
