confusion nexus
Unfortunately I cannot provide dates or exact sure locations for these images because of some sort of record-keeping or rearing mix-up that happened years ago. Fortunately these don't happen often (and less than early on when I was developing a system) but when they do they are confounding. Thus, I cannot say if this is a final instar as found on purple meadow-rue in Isanti County or as reared from a small larva found on early meadow-rue in Hennepin County or even something else still. I can only say for sure that it is a final instar Pseudeva from meadow-rue in east central Minnesota.
A similar situation applies to my images of Eosphoropteryx, from the same host plant genus and confusingly similar in appearance. It is possible I was confused in my earlier stage identifications and that this is at the root of my confused records. I resent and apologize for the confusion. Tight record keeping is golden!
