This is a rose chafer in the genus Macrodactylus.

Thanks Eric. Do you know why the club antenna on this speciman looks whole while other photos have about 3 sections?

Eric usually doesn't subscribe to post that he comments on so don't feel that he was ignoring you...

Scarab Beetles are capable of 'fanning out' their antennae when needed and folding them at other times. My guess would be to protect them...

I see that you are still an active poster and you might already have figured this out but, again, I just noticed this and thought I would chip in :)
