Tiny white mystery weevil found near Palm Springs, CA - Cylindrocopturus undescribed-nr-princeps

Tiny white mystery weevil found near Palm Springs, CA - Cylindrocopturus undescribed-nr-princeps
In the desert, near Palm Springs, Riverside County, California, USA
March 15, 2016
Size: 1cm
Found this tiny white weevil with distinct orangey-brown patches on the elytra and another brownish patch on the pronotum. The rest of the weevil is bright white, except for the proboscis which was half white and half black, with the color changing where the antennae attach. The weevil has raised bumps on the elytra. I suspect that it might be one of the Conoderinae, possibly a Cylindrocopturus species, but I'm not certain.

Henry Hespenheide says it's a new one, nr. C. princeps (Fall)
"...one of the bigger US species in the genus! For tiny, see [i]C. nanulus[i](1)," he adds

Moved from Cylindrocopturus.

Moved, Cylindrocopturus sp. (could be a neat one!)
Moved from ID Request.
