I just happened across this post and I have spotted this too
Near University of California Riverside. Up until now I actually thought it had been parasitized by fungus. How can I add a photo?

If you want to submit the picture for ID, just log into Bugguide, go the the ID Request tab, and click "add image," then fill in the submission form, upload the photo, and click submit.

If you already know what the bug is and want to add it to the relevant page, go to the Images tab of the appropriate Family, Genus, Species, or whatever level of classification you feel *confident* with, then click "add image" and fill in the submission form, upload the photo, and click submit.
