Southern Lappet Moth - Phyllodesma americana - Male
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA

Size: TL ≈ 23mm
I'm thinking this is a Southern Lappet (7686) - Phyllodesma occidentis, with a worn white reniform. However, it is much redder than I've seen. While the HW don't seem scalloped, could the traces of white on HW fringe indicate americana? Thanks
