Trigonarthris proxima
The pictured specimen is a male of
Trigonarthris proxima
(Say, 1824), distinguishable from
T. minnesotana
due its angulate prothorax.

Trigonarthris
The most common species that this could be is
Trigonarthris minnesotana
, which is out right now here in North Dakota on similar composite flowers. Hard to distinguish it from a similar species
T.proxima
, from a photo.
