Wasp galls on oak inflorescence - Dryocosmus dubiosus

Wasp galls on oak inflorescence - Dryocosmus dubiosus
Malibu Creek State Park, Los Angeles County, California, USA
March 26, 2016
Some oaks (Quercus agrifolia) in the southeast car park (near Piuma/Las Virgenes Rd. intersection) have these galls on the flowers. The galls are from either Callirhytis serricornis or Callirhytis congregata.

One is said to be kernel shaped, the other is elongated. I don't know the difference between the two shapes in this context. If anyone has a relevant reference handy I expect it would be easy to resolve...

Moved
Moved from Unidentified Galls. Elongate, clublike shape matches the bisexual generation gall of this species better than the ones you listed.
