Pseudaptinus (Thalpius) nobilis Liebke - Thalpius nobilis - female

Pseudaptinus (Thalpius) nobilis Liebke - Thalpius nobilis - Female
Choke Canyon SP, Live Oak County, Texas, USA
June 24, 2009
Size: ABL ~ 7.5 mm
Captured by B. Buchli at blacklight; det/@PW Messer. This rough yet instructive image was taken with a basic Kodak camera in autofocus held over ocular lens of stereomicroscope. It is placeholder for a species new to BugGuide, hopefully joined by better images later.

This was one of the specimens responsible for the new USA record reported by PW Messer in ZooKeys 147:419-424 (2011). Therein lies a description of this Mexican species.
