Hulstina - Nepterotaea

Hulstina - Nepterotaea
Terlingua Ranch lodge, Brewster County, Texas, USA
April 18, 2015
Looks a lot like the only photo of H. wrightiaria at MPG. Also note the two black dots on each abdominal segment on the photo here. Seems way out of range but some of the Calif. records are from mountainous areas and looks to be fairly common there. Maybe someone has a better name for this one, thanks. Found at light.

Nepterotaea sp.
This is more likely a species of Nepterotaea, which is more common in Texas. Hulstina species are more westerly (only known west of the Rockies, particularly California). I suspect this is either (a very fresh) Nepterotaea marjorae or Nepterotaea diagonalis, which are extremely similar; both have variations which add to the confusion.

Hulstina...
looks right, but it looks better (at least, to me) for aridata (see MPG), which at least occurs in AZ and CO. There is no BG page for the species, though.
