Xylocopa varipuncta - female

Xylocopa varipuncta - Female

Shows commensal mites on her abdomen. I don't know if it is technically an acarinarium on this bee. I have seen the words Dinogamasus and Laelapidae describe bee mites, but I have never got close enough to the ones in these pictures to be able to ID them.

Moved from ID Request.

Please un-link and then add to the texts
Linda, that is an awesome shot, but I think that you should un-link them and then add each one into the text of the other image, since they are probably different Bees. Wow, what a load!
Do you know how to do this? Please let me know if you need help with that. Thanks!

Thanks for your comments, Bob. I haven't a clue how to combine the two photos. If you want to tell me how I can try. I am also happy with you fiddling with them, you have my permission. Should I just submit the "lots o'mites" picture and delete the other one?

2 steps - Only you or an admin can do this.
1. - First select un-link. (above the two image thumbnails)
2. - To add a thumbnail link to any text or comment, use the BBCode for thumbnails: [thumb: image #](just the number on the right side, without any spaces)(found as a photo#, above any BugGuide image)
2. - or add in a URL link to the image, with a clickable-text title. The URL link format has three parts: [url= (link address)] title [ /url] (without any spaces)
More information can be found in the help section or in the BBCode link, under the comment box. Give it a try! You can always preview your comments and other text, before posting it.

Thank you. Not very good at
Thank you. Not very good at sorting out instructions, but made these into two separate photos and referenced one. Should have done that in the first place. If you like, we can delete our correspondence under this picture. You are so thoughtful and helpful, thank you again.

Thumbnail link
Here is your other image #: 1204380
When I put this code into my comment--->[thumb: 1204380] without the extra space, it make this image appear. (below)
It's that simple, for thumbnail links and you can edit the text of your posts at any time.

It worked. Thank you for you
It worked. Thank you for your patience. I have made a note of how to do that in future. I will go back to this page in an hour or so and delete my comments, feel free to do the same, so we don't fill up this space with our correspondence. Many thanks.
