Acmaeodera - a species would be nice to know. - Acmaeodera ornata
North Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, USA
April 3, 2016
Here's the deal: I'm holding the beetle to be identified in my left hand. My D7200, with Tamron 16-300 lens at 300mm, is in my right hand; and I'm firing shots as fast as I can (sorta like a machine gun). Considering the awkwardness of the situation, I HOPE this shot will pass muster for the beetle people here on BugGuide, net. Oh, autofocus helped A LOT!

Moved, Acmaeodera ornata
Moved from ID Request.

Acmaeodera ornata.
Standard species in eastern US.

Thanks, Bruce.
It's the first such in my digital collection.
