Size: ~ 3 cm
Heard splashing mid-tidal zone of sandy- rocky beach. Found this guy flipping around in sea lettuce at base of a small rock.

Moved from ID Request. Here is a source for West Coast decapod identification. I'll have to look through it to confirm your ID. Unfortunately, the key uses technical characters I'm not familiar with and at any rate likely aren't visible in your photo. I'll probably have to eliminate individual families or even species one by one based on what I can see here so it may take a while. At any rate, the habitat and appearance match the species we have in the north east.
