Hoverfly - Lejops

Hoverfly - Lejops
Havre De Grace , Harford County, Maryland, USA
April 11, 2016

Moved
Moved from Lejops lineatus.

Lejops, Anasimyia
Lejops, Anasimyia

The face is not long or point
The face is not long or pointed enough for lineatus. The hind femora are totally yellow on dorsal surface (some black in the lineatus complex).
I think this is Anasimyia anausis ... female (separated from lunulata following DNA studies).
I have sent it to Professor Jeff Skevington for his opinion.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

ID looks good to me!

Female - Lejops sp. (Subgenus Anasimyia)
I think that this is a female Lejops lineatus, but I'm not sure. (all-orange scutellum) Please wait for an expert opinion. The eye-gap is wide on both sexes, but the abdomen is very different.
Here is some information from the Canadian National Collection of Insects, Arachnids and Nematodes, on the genus Lejops that might be helpful.
