Skipper Caterpillar?

Skipper Caterpillar?
Tweed, Hastings, Ontario, Canada
April 14, 2016
Size: ~ 30 mm
Prepupal larva, about 30 mm long, active among dead leaf litter along the side of a trail.

In support of this ID, the caterpillar's appearance, habitat and season are consistent with the photograph and species account on Page 71, Caterpillars of Eastern North America (2005), by David L. Wagner.

Other Poanes sp larvae are similar but this is the only species that flies in my area. Adult Poanes hobomok have been recorded at this habitat on numerous occasions.
