Bombus griseocollis - female

Bombus griseocollis - Female
Sterling, Loudoun County, Virginia, USA
June 21, 2007

Bombus griseocollis
Note that the first abdominal terga (T1) is all yellow, but the second is yellow only on the base and has a slight brownish tinge to the yellow area.

note also the all black head (no yellow on vertex)
and rather short pubescence

unlike the Bombus (Pyrobombus) bimaculatus

Interesting
Sam, that's great - Thanks!
