Beautiful unidentified bug - Platycotis vittata
Beaverton, Oregon, USA
May 6, 2016
This was found by a friend of mine in her garden today. Despite numerous google searches and combing through websites I cannot seem to identify it. We have never seen it before in our area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you all very much - I have written to my friend and she is thrilled to finally know what it is. She is a bee keeper and likes to keep a close watch on what is in her garden.
