Shore Spider - Pardosa milvina - male

Shore Spider - Pardosa milvina - Male
Kirkwood, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA
April 19, 2016
Size: ~5mm
This image is of male but this post also includes an image of female taken at the same location, Powder Valley Nature Center, on the same day. Images of the male palp are included here. Females carrying egg sacks 3-4 mm diameter, below their abdomen, also seen in these populations.

I have found this species to be common in our area, in a variety of locations including suburban lawns; in parks close to water; natural wetland borders; and upland forest openings.

As a small gray/brown wolf-spider-type ~ 5mm, I have observed that they characteristically make distinctive, quick forward/jumping movements of a few cm, interspersed with brief pauses. (This might be helpful towards tentative recognition in the field).
