Bembidion confusum - female

Bembidion confusum - Female
Block Island, Washington County, Rhode Island, USA
May 12, 2016
Several seen on the backside of West Beach at the edge of Wash Pond. I'm fairly confident this is the right ID. Sikes (2004) said of the species, "This species is easily found in mid-summer, and is quite abundant on the backside of West Beach along the margin of brackish tidal pools and marshes." They took to the air readily and were quite difficult to catch considering their size. The color in this photo is off but the beetle is indeed shiny.

Bembidion confusum
confirmed by my physical det of this female ex. Thanks Aaron.

p.s. Curt I have not forgotten your request for B. confusum as part of a future larger trade.

Moved
Moved from Ground Beetles. Thanks! It's a shame the photo turned out so terrible. I'm getting this to Peter Messer so he'll be able to confirm the ID.

I think you're right
I just checked Lindroth's key, and the entirely pale legs combined with metallic colorful elytra separate this species from the similarly-shaped ones.
