European Pine Shoot Moth - Rhyacionia buoliana

European Pine Shoot Moth - Rhyacionia buoliana
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
June 27, 2007
Size: 7mm
I found this at the porchlight at night. I've been all over the web and the guide, but can't find an exact match. I found Ret*inia wenze*li in the guide, but it's wings seem shaped differently. I found Chiono*des ret*inie*lla on MPG, but it was a mounted specimen and I have some difficulty matching up the patterns...

Moved
Moved from Moths.

Probably 2867 -- Pine Shoot Moth -- Rhyacionia buoliana
Coloration is variable. It is no doubt spreading from southern British Columbia.

Thanks!
There is a huge, "sick" Pine in my neighbor's yard...perhaps that is one of the reasons it is sick...
