Geometer - Scopula ordinata

Geometer - Scopula ordinata
Yadkin River State Park, Stokes County, North Carolina, USA
May 15, 2016
Size: ~3 cm span
Found resting on plants beside river.

I've just read the the info on this. The species is said to feed on Catesby's Trillium, and I have photographed that trillium
just across the river from where I found the moth. All the field marks appear to right as well.

Expert needed
Recently I browsed Scopula and I remember having seen a moth like yours. I checked and it was #7161 Scopula ordinata. I hesitate suggesting it because the species apparently is quite uncommon. Don't get excited - an expert may well prove me wrong. Here is one of the few BG posts: .

Hi, Peter
I'm gonna go with it.
Thanks very much for pointing this out.
I spent a long time hunting in some books and on line and
even looked at some of the Scopula, but missed this one.
Cheers!

I thought you would...
..and so would I have. I just wanted to be cautious.
Peter
