Chalcid wasp - Anastatus semiflavidus - female

Chalcid wasp - Anastatus semiflavidus - Female
El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, USA
May 16, 2016
Two of these wasps emerged from a container where I had a variety of items: Calliphoridae pupae, soil, and plant/animal debris.

Anastatus semiflavidus…
These are egg parasitoids - would not have emerged from a pupa.

See reference here.

Thank you Ross!
I made the mistake of collecting lots of fly pupa along with soil and even deer hair and other debris. Thus, it was hard for me to tell with certainty the origin of the wasps. I will correct my wrong assumption from my description to avoid confusion. I am glad to have provided the first BG entry of this species from TX or the Southwest. Thank you again Ross!
