Large Orange Ant Queen - Camponotus castaneus - female

Large Orange Ant Queen - Camponotus castaneus - Female
Ridgeville, Colleton County, South Carolina, USA
May 9, 2016
Size: 23mm
My wife found her on our porch in the evening, Not sure of the species maybe Camponotus americanus but I've never seen one this size before. I have her in a gel farm she seems happy shes laying a large amount of eggs i tried feeding her honey drops and also some moth flys but she seems to just kill them and then bury them.
