Moved
Moved from Tetriginae.

To me he looks like
Tetrix ornata.
Here are some comments for the benefit of anyone confused by these things and looking in.

Tetrix arenosa is very similar, but tends to be more slender with the top of the pronotum flatter. It also usually has the fastigium slightly less extended in front of the eyes when viewed from above.

Paratettix cuculatus is the only species in that genus that should be found in New York. In profile it looks flatter on top, and when viewed from above the wide point in the body seems more pronounced and angular. The fastigium reaches less forward when viewed from above and is narrower (the eyes closer together).

They are all very closely related, and the division between the "genera" Paratettix and Tetrix seems rather artificial to me. T. arenosa actually looks more like a Paratetettix to me than like other Tetrix, and T. ornata is not all that different from T. arenosa. T. ornata can be confusingly similar to T. bruneri, T. bruneri to T. subulata, and so on. Plus, different people can look at the same insects and have a different opinions as to what is similar/related to what.

In other words, they can be a bit confusing, because they are all very similar (plus each species is somewhat variable in it's morphology).
