Coleophora case on willow stem - Coleophora salicivorella

Coleophora case on willow stem - Coleophora salicivorella
Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada
May 18, 2016
Size: 1cm
This casebearer moth larva was on a willow stem. Image 2 shows a hole just above the case that may be a feeding hole, i.e., a mine. Charley, any advice regarding rearing a cesebearer?

Moved from Unidentified Leaf Mines.

If it has attached itself to the stem and is done feeding, all you have to do it put it in a container and wait. If it is still feeding, I may have to rethink my ID. I have occasionally seen casebearers mine young, tender stems (of blackberry), but I think that hole is too small and narrow to have been made by this larva.
