Psorophora - Psorophora ciliata - female

Psorophora - Psorophora ciliata - Female
San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA
I collected these specimen while they were in the larval/pupal stage. I collected approximately 80 of mixed Psorophora specimen from a run-off on golf course at Fort Sam Houston, TX. I had to "fish" them out of the water one at a time using a dipper. It took me a total of 6 hours in 4 days to collect them. The left mosquito is a female Psorophora ciliata, and the mosquito on the right is a female Psorophora howardii. I also caught some Psorophora ferox along with this gals. Now I'm on the hunt for Culiseta species.
