Psorophora - Psorophora ciliata

Psorophora - Psorophora ciliata
San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA
April 19, 2016
Here's a picture of a few Psorophora larvae/pupae and some Aedes larvae. Note the size difference between the two mosquito genera. I took this picture on day 1 of the "hunt". I did not get a chance to identify the Aedes lavae to species because the Psorophora larvae consumed all of them by the 2nd day. I have a video of a Psorophora larva "snacking" on an Aedes larva but I don't know how or if I can upload it here.
