Common Thrips?

Common Thrips?
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
June 26, 2007
Size: 1.5 mm
Caught in yellow pan trap. I'm wondering if this might be a Thrips in the family Thripidae, based on the following characteristics which I observed, and are supposedly rather distinctive to the family according to McGavin, 1992:

- wings narrow and pointed (not visible in this image)
- flattened appearance, general pale coloration
- Antennae have between 6 and nine segments
- this specimen has what appears to be a down-pointing ovipositor

Each dot in the background is approximately 0.5 mm in diameter.

Of course, I'm open to comments...
