Size: about 1 inch long
This caterpillar has been debated at length on the AlbertaLeps site. It was agreed that it is the caterpillar of a Prominent moth. There were many suggestions as to its species, but no definitive identification. The species suggested the most was Oligocentria semirufescens – Red-washed Prominent.

Yes - Red-washed Prominent…
Has the forward-projecting cleft horn on A1, hump on T3, protuberances on fifth and eighth abdominal segments, etc. This cat is small, but will rise up when it feels threatened.
