Unknown Megachile - Megachile perihirta - male

Unknown Megachile - Megachile perihirta - Male
South Surrey, Greater Vancouver Regional District, British Columbia, Canada
May 22, 2016
Size: about 10 mm in length
Male bee was patrolling and feeding. He was quite aggressive, hitting and chasing off wool carder and bumble bees. Due to the striking hair and eye colour, was wondering if he can be ided to species? M. latimanus might fit, but is out of range for the southwest of BC.
