Size: abt. 1.8 cm w/o antenna
Found at around 6000 ft. elevation in the mountains of south-central Montana, in an area of mostly lodgepole pine. Perhaps red-shouldered pine borer, or a relative?

Thank you, and thanks for the info -- I'm used to finding all-black longhorn beetles in that area, but I'd not seen one of these before. It really stood out on the grey bark of a dead pine.
