Black Beetle - Melanolestes picipes

Black Beetle - Melanolestes picipes
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
May 24, 2016
Size: 20mm?
Found under a large rock. Sharing space with a colony of ants. Could be immature because of the short wings. I only got the one picture and then I lost it.

Hemipteran
This is an assassin bug, maybe this one?
