this is a sollicitans, unless the scales have been really rubbed off dont know what it is

 
Psorophora columbiae
I was just browsing through, and I am sure what you have is a Psorophora columbiae. Check out the subapical bands on the femora, and the broad yellowish white band on the proboscis.

Nice to get another example of this species, except when I have seen them, there are thousands of examples all trying to bite me!

It seems that the current name for this is Ochlerotatus sollicitans. I will write up an info page.
