Pinnacles wasp - Ammophila

Pinnacles wasp - Ammophila
Pinnacles National Park, San Benito County, California, USA
May 21, 2016
This large wasp was found during the Pinnacles National Park Bioblitz and reminded me in length if not in bulk of a Pepsis spider wasp. It also exhibited the wing flicking I frequently associate with pompilids. Any identification assistance would be appreciated.
