Canyon with steep red-rocked walls speckled with junipers. Canyon bottom wide, with much grass, forbes, and "beavertail" cactus, some cholla.

Looks rather to be a male Widow to us
genus Latrodectus. Someone will be able to tell you which one.

Thanks J&J. I actually think this is an immature female after looking thru images on BugGuide. Which one, however...? If adult male, then would have to be Western Widow.
