Clubtail (Cobra?) - Gomphurus vastus - female

Clubtail (Cobra?) - Gomphurus vastus - Female
Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois, USA
June 1, 2016
Size: 2 inches in length
Found on a suburban sidewalk, barely alive (not moving except some pulsing of abdomen); dead a few hours later. Some injury (mating?) to right side of thorax and left eye. My guess is Cobra based on markings and subgenital plate; commentary appreciated.
