Hairy Pompilid - Psorthaspis - male

Hairy Pompilid - Psorthaspis - Male
Conway, Faulkner County, Arkansas, USA
June 30, 2007
Size: 15mm (measured)
Caught this in my insect trap (set up for robbers). I keep all Pompilids and Sphecids and this thing was almost let go because it was just too hairy. I tried my hand at keying and thought it was a Chalcochares. There are no recorded species in that genus for my state. Submitting these for Nick to create page and further diagnosis.
