Hairy Weevil? - Barypeithes pellucidus

Hairy Weevil? - Barypeithes pellucidus
47.630601N 52.687627W (WGS84), Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
June 30, 2007
Size: 4mm Body Length
I think this is a weevil but I've not seen any weevils with body hairs before. Is that dent in its body a 'wound' or are they sometimes just misshapen like this? Like many other 'bugs', it was crawling on our concrete driveway. Hope I'm at least right about it being a weevil.

weevil, right!
the "dent" in the body is a malformation; species is Barypeithes pellucidus.

Thank you
Thank you very much for the information. I've moved the images to the species page.
